The start line of a marathon race….relax the nervous tension….breathe Here is an interview blog on his magical experience on the Wim Hof Method: To Breathe is to Live Very recently I happened to speak to a person who has been following the Wim Hof Method for almost a year now. Sounds like half the battle is won? The Wim Hof Method promises all this and more. Phenomenal ways of improving the life we have left for us now! While medical science is still searching for the Covid-19 vaccine, we are unanimous on building our immunity, leading an active lifestyle and living with a positive mindset. There are some other breathes that are a bit more advanced in terms of the experience of the breath and it's hard to describe them here, so let's start with box.In my continuous quest for learning and practicing new breathing techniques, I came across the Instagram handle of Wim Hofman, much known as the ‘Iceman’! I remember being completely in awe of him as I went through his feed. This is the one I use and teach most often. This is an amazing way to reduce tension or stress. There are different breaths that will help relieve stress. If you can lay on the floor with your hand on your belly and during your inhales you can move that hand up and down.

it may not come naturally at first because it's not something most people are taught. What I was speaking about specifically is using breath and awareness of where in the body the stress is held (for example, the chest area and chest tension for me and a little bit of jaw) and when feeling stressed bringing deeper breath to it.įirst off, you need to practice breathing into your belly.

This is both incredibly painful and really common so you're not alone in it. It sucks to feel like life is just not adding up to what one hoped it might be or to be in a state of feeling hopeless. I'm glad that I'm at a place in my life where I'm capable of letting go of anxiety, it's hold me back quite a lot, but besides that it has always shown me how much there is left to grow, which I'm very grateful for.įirst of I want to say I feel how hard things are. Letting go of things that never belonged to us in the first place. In every moment we have the choice to let go. It's a core mechanism that allows us to influence our physiology and the responses that certain stimuli evoke at any moment. During an ayahuasca ceremony I also gained the insight that at whatever moment we have the choice how we want to feel and be. Yes, it's a result of issues that occured in my past life but yes, it's also okay to make the conscious choice to feel strong and happy. In my eyes it's okay to choose to not identify with the anxiety. Past days I've been sort of feeling tired of the anxiety, which gave me a choice to let go of the anxiety, stay in the present moment and moreover choose how and what to feel. However, I've found that the Wim Hof method is a very fast route for decreasing anxiety and stress in general. It's sort of the same process: Becoming aware of the cold, how it affects our physical and mental state, acknowledging the cold, relaxing into it and in the end not being impacted that much anymore by the cold. Option 2 for me has been doing the wim hof method: Breathing excersises in combination with becoming aware in the present moment. Having to burst constantly through your discomfort is tough. It helped me tremendously, but it's a pretty tough road. I feel there are 2 roads when dealing with anxiety: Figuring out what is the cause of anxiety, diving deep, doing shadow work, acknowledging, processing the anxiety and thus slowly decreasing the abundance and effect anxiety has on you. Just wanted to let anyone know that is struggling with anxiety that the anxiety doesn't have to be there permanently.
